Edit together

Work on the same edit at once, see who’s there and where they are, and read notes.

Everyone who can open an edit can be in it at the same time. To bring someone in, choose Share in the editor and invite them, or add them to your workspace. See Bring someone into one edit, Share for review and Invite people.

Seeing each other

When someone else has the same edit open:

  • Their face shows in the top bar, next to Export. Hover it for their name. Someone with the edit open in several tabs shows once.
  • Their playhead shows on the timeline as a line in their colour, shaped like yours, and moves along as they play.
  • Their pointer shows over the timeline with their first name.
  • Clips they’ve picked have a ring in their colour.
  • A clip they’re moving or trimming moves on your timeline as they drag it, and stays where they drop it.

Go to someone

Choose someone’s face in the top bar to go to where they are. In a video edit your playhead jumps to theirs and the timeline scrolls to show it. In a design, the layers they’ve picked become your picked layers, so you’re looking at the same thing; if they haven’t picked a layer, a message says so.

Changes

Each change saves half a second after you make it, and everyone else’s editor picks it up straight away. The cloud in the top bar shows a tick once it's saved (point at it to read Saved). If a save doesn’t go through, the editor keeps trying; if it can’t, it says so, and reloading shows the saved edit.

Undo and redo take back your own changes, not other people’s.

You can keep working if your connection drops for a moment. What you changed is sent when you’re back, and anything waiting is sent as you close the tab.

Who can change what

People who can edit it can change the timeline. People who can only comment open the editor to watch: they can play the timeline and appear to others, but the timeline, tools and Undo don’t change anything for them.

Comments

Comments on a timeline, from your team and from review links, are in the Comments tool, last on the left. Each shows the time it was left at, or the stretch it covers. Choose one to jump the playhead there, and reply, resolve or delete it. New comments appear as they’re left, without reloading. See Share an edit for review.
