Scripts, plans and storyboards

Write scripts, project plans, shot lists and storyboards together, and have the Agent draft them and make the shots.

Scripts is where you plan the work before you make it: a script with scenes and dialogue, a project plan with a checklist, a shot list, a storyboard, or just notes. Everyone in the workspace can open them, and editors can write in them at the same time.

Start a script

Open Scripts in the sidebar (on a phone, tap your photo, then Scripts) and choose New script. Pick what it's for: Script, Project plan, Shot list, Storyboard or Notes. Each starts with a layout to fill in, and you can mix any blocks in any of them.

Use the toolbar to change a line into a heading, a Scene heading (INT. KITCHEN - NIGHT), Dialogue (who speaks, then the line) or a Shot, and for bold, lists and checklists. Add a shot puts a new shot after the line you're on. Press Enter at the end of a shot or a line of dialogue to start the next one; press Enter on an empty one to go back to plain text.

Shots and storyboards

A shot has what we see, its size (wide, medium, close and so on), the camera move, how many seconds it runs, and a frame. Choose Add a frame to pick a photo or a still from your Library. The page counts the shots and adds up their length as you go.

Switch to Storyboard at the top to see the shots laid out frame by frame. Click one to jump back to it in the script.

Writing together

Changes save as you type, and the page says Saving… and then Saved. When others are in the same script you see their initials at the top and their cursor, with their name, as they write. People who can only comment can read scripts but not change them.

To rename a script, edit its title at the top of the page, or choose Rename from More on its tile. To delete it, use More on its tile or at the top of the page. Deleting removes it for everyone in the workspace; shots made from it stay in the Library.

Ask the Agent

The Agent reads and writes scripts. Ask it to "write a storyboard for a 30 second spring ad" and it writes one and opens it. With a script open, ask it to tighten the dialogue, add three shots after the opening or tick off what's done, and you'll see its changes land in the page, while anything you're typing stays put.

To make the shots, choose Make the shots at the top, which fills the Agent's card, and send it. The Agent offers a plan with every shot and its price, and nothing is made until you approve it. Make it on a single shot fills the card with just that shot, for you to send.
