What you can do with a file

Open a file in Library to see it large, with what it is and everything you can do with it beside it. On a desktop, the arrow keys step through the files; on a phone, swipe.

The buttons

• Generate from this opens Create. If the file is one of an element’s photos, the button says Generate with and the element’s name, and Create opens with that element ready to tag.
• + adds it to an edit, at the end of the timeline or into the edit’s media bin. With no edits yet, it starts a new one.
• Share to the community shows on videos and images generated on Shotz, once they’re ready. See Share a take to the community.
• Download saves the original file.
• ⋯ holds Select, Make an element (photos and videos) and Delete.

Under the buttons, Tools lists what can run on this file, such as removing a background or adding captions, each with its price. A generated file also shows the prompt, model and shape that made it.

On a phone, press and hold a tile for the same actions without opening it.

Several files at once

On a desktop, ⌘-click (Ctrl-click on Windows) or Shift-click tiles to select them. A bar at the bottom offers Download, Add to an edit and Make an element for the selection. Downloads go up to 50 files at a time.

On a phone, choose Select from a file’s actions, then tap more tiles. The bar there offers Make an element; download or add files one at a time from their own actions.

Deleting

Delete takes a file out of the Library and out of any edit that uses it; those clips go blank. It can’t be undone. An element made from the file keeps its own copy, so the element isn’t changed. A shot you shared to the community stays up, since the post has its own copy.

Only owners and editors can delete files. People who can only comment can open and download them.
