Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor with MCP
Add Shotz to any app that speaks MCP, sign in, and it can generate, run tools and read your Library on the workspace's credits.
Shotz has an MCP server, so an assistant like Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can work in your workspace for you: make shots, run tools on your files, read your Library and follow what's generating. It works as you, in one workspace, and spends that workspace's credits.
Connect an app
- In the app, add a custom connector or MCP server with this address:
https://shotz.co/api/mcp - The app sends you to Shotz to sign in. If you're in more than one workspace, pick the one it should work in. You need to be an owner or editor there.
- Check what it's asking for and press Connect. You're sent back to the app.
That's all. The address is also in Settings → API, under Connected apps, with a Copy button.
Apps that can't sign in (a script, a server, some command-line tools) can send a workspace API key instead, as Authorization: Bearer sk_live_….
What an app can do
- Read: the workspace, its credits, brands and elements; the models and what they cost; your Library (search, list and one file with its transcript and what X-Ray found); your takes and edits; and Inspiration.
- Make: generate video, pictures and sound, another take, finish a Seedance draft, stop a take; run a tool on a file (remove a background, a new scene, upscale, smoother, extend, reframe, dub, clean up audio, change or recast a clip, sound effects, captions, clips, a product video); bring a file into the Library from a public link; set a file's name, description, tags and Library fields; file things in folders; make an edit; and run a batch.
Everything that spends says what it cost. Credits, member limits, the workspace's spending limit and models an owner switched off all hold, as they do in the app. An app can't delete anything, share anything, invite anyone or touch billing.
Read only
The page you press Connect on lists what the app is asking for: See your Library, takes, edits and credits, and, if it wants to make things, Make takes, run tools and add files, spending the workspace’s credits. An app that asks only to see can look but never spend: anything that makes something tells it so. If you’d rather not, press Not now.
Disconnect an app
Open Settings → API. Under Connected apps, each app is listed with who connected it and when it was last used (Not used yet until then). Press Disconnect and it stops working here at once. Owners see and can disconnect everyone's apps; editors see their own. Connecting and disconnecting an app are in the audit log.
An app also stops working if the person who connected it leaves the workspace or stops being an owner or editor there, and once it goes 30 days without being used.
A real person in Melbourne will write back, usually within one business day.
